The Capas collection focuses on creating and using layers of color, tone and shadow to generate intense depth and at the same time be easy to blend into any environment, due to the presence of a wide range of chromatic tones.

Hahn's starting point for the Capas collection is his notion that shadows are never black or gray, but full of color and geometry. The designer's goal was to create a simple, lightweight rug that had a casual yet complex feel in the use of color and the formation of depth. For this, nanimarquina and Hahn intensively studied the specificities of Kilim weaving techniques in search of new ways of color distribution.

After months of research, nanimarquina and Hahn developed a new type of loose Kilim structure that allows the colors of the warp and weft to be mixed. Warp is not normally visible on a Kilim. By defining a different warp density, new shades emerged, providing a visual texture where colors intertwine throughout the rug. The unique texture creates a dark and light effect and great depth without becoming heavy. Like the layers of air in the atmosphere that reflect light and cast shadows.

Color is a central element of the Covers collection. Each rug has a main color, a complementary tone and its darker gradient that in the composition gives the illusion of a shadow cast on the floor. Each rug is a chord of a certain main color.

materials :

100% Afghan wool
Hand-spun wool from indigenous sheep in Afghanistan. This fiber has a low environmental impact as the rugs are woven in nearby Pakistan.

Traditionally, wool is the most used material for rugs. Presenting essential characteristics, wool offers quality, flexibility and is 100% biodegradable. It is hypoallergenic, easy to care for and ages well. In addition, it is considered a great thermal and acoustic insulator and also a natural moisture regulator. Wool rugs help create cozy and comfortable environments.
