Nimbus Mirror, Ø60

Darkly Mirror is an exploration of the history of human beings' relationship with the reflected image. Some historians believe that the first mirrors may have been small ceramic bowls filled with water, used in the late Stone Age. The fact that there is no hard evidence to support the theory fascinates designer Nick Ross, whose Darkly Mirror for MENU takes inspiration from ceramic bowls. “That it cannot be proved adds to the mystery of the object. Is it a new or old object reinvented? I wanted to take that notion and create a modern object that questions its possible past and its relationship to 'the self'. ”
